•••• Glossybox April 2013 ••••

Glossy Box Official Website: GlossyBox
Pearl Lowe for Glossy Box April 2013 UK

I have received my Glossy Box this month a little late due to it being lost and being redelivered. But anyway, here's my review on this month's Glossy Box.
As you already know, this is a special edition box designed by Pearl Lowe and I have to so So Pretty! Just right up on my street. Here are the contents:

  • Richard Ward Couture Hair
  • YVES Rocher France Nutritive Vegetal Nourishing Cream
  • Nip + Fab Mango Body Butter
  • ESSIE Nail Lacquer
  • Balance Me Radiance Face Mask

Nip + Fab Mango Body Butter (Full Size £9.95 200ml, Sample Size 50ml)
I have used some products from this brand and they were all skincare range. However I didn't have any idea that Nip + Fab also sales bath/body stuff so it was nice to get a lovely luxury sixed Body Butter from them. This body butter it not too think so easily bendable and not too thin which may lack lasting time. Generous size and gorgeous smell.

ESSIE Nail Lacquer (Full Size £7.99, Sample Size received: Full Size)
Lovely to see Essie brand being included in Glossy Box! There's a massive range of colours so I have seen many different colours being added in the box this month. One I received is in Geranium , though I wouldn't have picked up the same colour , I still like it! It's an in between Orange and Red colour and perfect for Spring/Summer. Excellent quality, Dries very quickly.

Richard Ward Couture Hair Optimiser Style Reviver (Full Size £19 for 150ml, Sample size received  50ml)
I have used Richard Ward's hair product before and did not like/ suited my hair type. I has a nice smell but doesn't have a lot of holding power. Wish I didn't received this product and had received Yves Rocher little perfume sample instead like most subscriber did :( .Won't be using this product.

YVES Rocher France Nutritive Vegetal Nourishing Cream (Full Size £13.50 for 50ml, Sample size received  15ml)
This is a cute little tube of moisturiser received in my box. Suitable for Dry to Very Dry skin which is what I am. It's an organic product which is a bonus and I am definately going to try this once I rund out of my Estee Lauder moisturiser.

Balance Me Radiance Face Mask (Full Size £18 for 75ml, Sample size received  15ml)
Another organic product in this month's box! However I DO NOT like Balance Me, not only because I have received enough BM product in different beauty boxes but also it doesn't do much on my skin! I think Balance Me company's PR has gone into wrong direction as I own almost all of their ranges that i have received either free with magazine or in Beauty Boxes so don't see how are we ever going to need to buy more of BM Products? phewww

Overall, I loved this month's box until I saw what other(most!) people have received. The Sleek Blusher, Yves Rocher and Illamasqua pencil that other subscriber received but I didn't :(
Would have loved receiving them instead of the Hair Spray and Balance Me face mask and therefore this box became a let down for me. No complain about the sizes, infact they were very generous but the variation was as usual, Unfair!

What do you think of your glossbox?
Did you receive same as me or a different one?

•••• GLAM GURU BEAUTY BOX 2 ••••

I have here a Brand New Beauty Box (which very recently launched) all the way from Israel. The box was delivered within 5-7 working days after I made a payment through PayPal. As this company is fairly new and not many of us aware of it, I thought I'll do a review so you know what sort of products they include in Glam Guru Beauty Boxes.

GLAM GURU BEAUTY BOX (International)
Available to purchase : here

As you can see from the pictures, It's a gorgeous Black Beauty Box , megnatic slide to open which tied up with black ribbon. Inside, pretty pink tissue paper and Brown shredded paper. Lovely packaging , will certainly re-use it as storage or Gift Box :)
I have also received a little envelop with lovely Welcome message written on, lovely personal touch!

Glam Guru is available to purchase from £12 a month plus P&P here and with this month's box, there were 7 products and an Extra product included for being a new subscriber.

Now, here are the contents of my First Glam Guru Box:

  • Elin Blanco Hair Treatment Mask
  • Moroccan oil Treatment Hair Oil
  • Lancaster Suractif Volume Contour Skin Illuminator
  • Lancaster Flash Smoothing Skin Scrub
  • Gaya Mineral Bronzer shimmer
  • Orly Nail Polish in Flare
  • Kleenex Pocket Tissue
  • and last but not the least a little *EXTRA* Facial Sponge

Moroccanoil Treatment Hair Oil (Sample size 25ml?, not sure as not written in English)
Most of us know about this product and it smells gorgeous! Ideal for Dry and Damaged hair. As I have oily hair and don't normally apply oil, this product would have to be in my Give Away list sadly :(

I do not currently own any product that are created for specially Contouring! So needless to say that I am EXCITED to try out this product! It's also an Illuminator that highlights contours and unify complexion. It has a lovely smell to it and the product inside looks like Benefit High Beam.

This is a lovely deluxe sized sample, enough to try out on face. This scrub is for all skin type and also works as a mask. 5 mins application helps increasing the brightness of your skin and softens it. Hmmm lovely!

Elin Blanco Hair Treatment Mask (30ml? Not written on the product)
Another lovely sized product in the box which smells amazing! Never heard og Elin Blanco Brand before but excited to try it since it's for all types of hair. It provides moisture and repair damaged hair while softens and creates shine. Available to purchase here

Orly Nail Polish in Flare (Full Size)
Orly is a lovely brand and I have tried their nail polish before. I have received the colour in Flare which is gold shimmery long lasting colour that would look lovely at night out!

This is gotta be the FAVOURITE product of the box! Available to purchase for 40EURO! Which is more than £25 on it's own and this has paid for the whole box and bit more. This product is more like an highlighting shimmery powder and the packaging is beautiful! It can be used on eyes and it has a lot glitter! Will also use on my cheek bone to create some shine. It's an amazing full-size product!

Kleenex Pocket Tissue
This is a pocked tissue which comes handy for handbags. I have had them before from Body Care and always buying these.

A Little *EXTRA* Facial Sponge
Very nice of them sending me an extra product as a new subscriber. I do not currently have a face sponge so will definitely be using this.

Overall, I absolutely love Glam Guru Box! It's been ages since I said WOW after opening a beauty box and it's going down the hill lately. I am very impressed with their convenient service and will definately be purchasing in the future.

What do you think of Glam Guru?
Are you planning to buy one?

•••• BIRCH BOX APRIL 2013 ••••

Birch Box Website: BirchBox

Hello my lovely readers, This review is on Birch Box April 2013 which I received last week and thought of sharing the contents and review with you. So here we go:

This month's theme is 'IN BLOOM'. Usual box design along with its magazine with spring feeling to it. Inside the box I have received:
  • Gerda Spillmann Age Serum
  • La Societe Parisienne De Savons Soap
  • Mirenesse Glossy Kiss lip pencil
  • Waleda Skin Food
  • Green & Spring Shampoo
  • ...& Lifestyle Extra: BirchBox Paname Pris Mirror

Gerda Spillmann Age Serum (Full-size £69.00 , sample size received 3ml)
Keep up your youthful appearance this spring with antioxidant enriched here serum. Add it to your routine for fresh, supple skin for all ages. It's a thin textured serum and I haven't used it yet, as I haven't yet started using any aging products however, I'll give this a go.

Waleda Skin Food (Full Size £8.95, Sample Size received 10ml)
It's an organic product used by Victoria Beckham who swears by this all-natural moisturiser which softens dry heels and elbows with ease. I am exciting to try this product as I have tried other Waleda products before and they're lovely.

Green & Spring Shampoo  (Full Size £16, Sample Size received 50ml)
This product has lavender scent and ideal for everyday use. Some people have received the conditioner range by the same brand and I received a shampoo which I am glad I have however I dislike the smell, just not my type :(

Mirenesse Glossy Kiss lip pencil (Full Size £17.50, Sample received Full Size)
This is the only product that I am going to use out of all from this box. It's a lovely rosy colour and creamy lip pensil stick which is well pigmented. This product has a light shimmer to it and looks lovely on. I have been a Mirenesse lover for a while and always been placing an order which comes all the way from Australia. Love this product <3

La Societe Parisienne De Savons Soap (Full Size 8.50, available to purchase here)
Quite nice packaging as you can see however I am not keen on the smell at all and therefore won't be using it. I'll be passing it on to my mum or a work colleague.

BirchBox Paris Mirror
And last but not the least, BirchBox thrown in a little mirror in our box as a lifestyle extra this month. This is come handy to put it in my handbag when I loose my current one (haha, always loosing it).

Overall I am not too keen on most of the products that I have received this month however, it's a good range but just not my type. We have to remember that , it's only a sampling service so we won't necessarily be getting the products we always want. I am looking forward to the next month's box and hope it would be a better one than this.

•••• Urban Decay Beauty Balm ••••

Urban Decay Naked Skin Beauty Balm
available to purchase --> here £23

I bought this Urban Decay Beauty Balm (also can be referred as BB Cream) recently and thought of sharing my experience with you :)

First of all , I LOVE the packaging! I would except no less when it comes to put effort into lovely packing by Urban Decay. It's slim and sleek, tube application 35ml

Now lets talk about the product, This beauty Balm is lightweight five in one BB Cream that minimises pores, winkles, redness, lines etc according to UD which sounds a lot. It also has SPF 20 and non-greasy which means suitable for oily skin too (though it says suitable for all skin type but have seen some reviews on Youtube and some people didn't agree with it).

Urban Decay also specified that It's not just a make-up products as they have done a clinical study, immidiately after using Naked Skin Beauty Balm certain percentage of consumer believed it helped them looked significantly lifted and gave better complexion as well as firms and helps lifting. It also helps improving skin significantly smoother and hydrates skin.

Now, My thought on the product. This product has light smell to it which I don't mind. It goes nicely on my Medium Ivory skin tone (It might sho up slightly dark if you have an extreme pale skin)

The product blends very nicely and quickly so you might even not need to use brush (I recommend you do). I personally use this product in day time and for quick 'Get ready and Go' time. It does not cover blemishes and redness very well the texture is very light. When your skin is in good condition and don't need to cover spots, redness, blemishes etc then this is perfect for you. However, If you are looking for medium to high coverage, this product may not be for you!

I personally LOVE Urban Decay products and recommend everyone to atleast own one of their products. Becuase, BB Cream from various brands have been out for a while (Now the new trend CC Cream ! ), I personally think Urban Decay should have had this product out when it was all hot on the market! Many people like me who has experienced using BB Creams, would be a little picky  when it comes to liking this product only because of it's High End Brand Reputation and more expectation. But overall,  my expectation was higher however I have enjoyed using this product so far. I blame my Stubborn Dry skin for not loving it as much as I should have had.

What do you think?
Are you planning to purchase this product?

••• SOAP & CO Product Review •••

SOAP & CO Product Review (Body Scrub, Hand & Nail Kit and Mineral Peeling Gel)
Available to purchase form their official site : Click Here

Disclaimer: All the products shown on picture were not given for free to review, they were purchased for the intention of using them as a consumer.

This review is on my purchase from Soap & Co company for the first time from Westfield Shopping Centre which I have recently started using and fallen in love with and I thought It was worth sharing my opinion on this Brand ( Don't think it's very known) as not many reviews can be found on this Brand.

As you can see from my Haul It's quite a few products that I've purchased from their counter at the Westfield Shopping Centre. This lot cost me £55 altogether. The products I got are in Patchouli Lavender Vanilla.

Hand and Nail Kit (Available to purchase here for £39.99)

I'll start with the Nail and Hand Kit that I purchased from the counter. All of these products were in a box and I've thrown it away unfortunately :( . Available to purchase for £39.99 however I only paid £25 for the kit and thought it was worth trying and my nails were in a very bad condition at that point.

The kit contains:

  • Cuticle Oil : used it to rub around my nail area to prevent breakout and seems to be working for me  as it softens the skin and saves from dryout :)

  • Nail Buffer:  Application 2-4 weeks. Each of them has coloured surface for different feautures towards achieving a perfect strong shiny nails. It brings out the natural nail oil from inside your nail and gives you a shine as you can see from the picture. Magic!

  • Hand and Body Lotion: I love this! can't believe how moisturising it is. Being a Not So Proud Dry Skin Owner, I gotta admit it feels smooth(est) on my skin after apply and it's perfect for super dry skin like me. Can be used for both hand and all over the body.

  • and last but not the least a Nail File which does its job.

Many people may think it's a bit pricey (£25 for a Nail Kit!) but I honestly think it's worth it!
Next time you pop into Westfield Shopping Centre, don't forget to pick one of these kit! :)

Body Scrub (available to purchase here for £34.99)

350ml 1 year supply for 1 person.

I have previously owned a few body scrub and to be honest I am to lazy in the shower to use them. However this Body Scrub don't just smell yummy, it also has perfect sby exfoliating the dead skin shells and creates circulation.

I was given one of these jar and asked to pay £35 and I never spent that much money on a body scrub! I said to the lady that I can't afford it! Then she offered me, if I buy the body scrub , she'll give me the Mineral Peeling Gel for free! (which I'll talk you through about in the next picture)
I was tempted as when I tried the product, I could really see the difference straight away! My skin started feeling like a baby! I DO NOT regret paying £35 Quid for this product :)

Mineral Peeling Gel (not available to purchase online RRP £60)

This product is the last but certainly not the least, infact the most favorite one! Sorry can't seems to find this product on their website unfortunately. As previously mentioned, this product came for free with my Body Scrub purchase and worth £60 on its own!

Now , I was thinking, hmm really? then I tried a little bit on!
O - M - G !
I have been looking for a peeling gel for ages and didn't really thought how good it can work on your skin! This product peels away dead skin cells, make up residue and clogged dirt in seconds!  I have been using it regularly as I wear make-up everyday at work and I couldn't ask for a better product than this! My skin feels renewed and clean like never before! Highly recommend this product!

Bottom line, I loved using all the products I purchased and so glad that i discovered this brand.

How you heard about Soap and Co?
Or are you thinking of purchasing their products?
What do you think about them?
